Fjällräven Polar 2027

Hitting the "upload" button on my application video today made my stomach absolutely flip.

If you had told me a few years ago that I, Neiagha Thomas from Arkansas would be applying to Fjällräven Polar 2027, 300km across the Arctic tundra on a dog sled, I probably would have laughed. The Arctic winter is a world away from what I know. As Arkansas is very flat and our coldest winters, everything shuts down with not a snowplow in sight.

Honestly? I am incredibly nervous and that is why I am so excited to apply.

But beneath that layer of adult nerves, something else sparked when I saw this challenge. A feeling that told me it was time to let "little me" come out and play. You know that version of yourself? The one who didn't overthink the risks, loved to explore, and looked at a massive challenge as an open invitation to adventure and curiosity? The one who is now reimagining what life looks like, yes that is me.
